On October 2, 1950, Peanuts debuted in seven U.S. newspapers. This comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz spawned a worldwide phenomenon. Since then, its quirky characters have starred in cartoons, parade balloons, and even a musical!
Over his lifetime, Schulz published 17,987 Peanuts comic strips. “He never missed a deadline,” says Benjamin Clark, curator of the Schulz Museum. “The jokes, the drawing—everything was him!”
