MATH Stumpers
Flex your math muscles with these fun brainteasers! Record your work and answers on our answer sheet.
COLE'S COATS
Cole sells three sizes of winter coats—large, medium, and small. Each size below large sells for 90% of the cost of the size above it. Cole says, “So each medium coat I sell costs 10% less than a large coat and each small coat sells for 20% less than a large coat!”
What math mistake did Cole make? How would you fix it?
ICY PRIME'S
Only the squares of ice with prime numbers are solid enough to walk on. Draw a path for the polar bear cub to reach his snack safely! The cub can only go up, down, left, or right.
GATHERING FIREWOOD
Fiona needs 5 logs to build a fire in her fireplace. The mean weight of all 5 logs must be 13 pounds. Which 5 logs below can she choose?
PLENTY OF PRESENTS
Someone stacked these presents so the numbers in each row add to the same sum. But some numbers fell off! Can you fill in the missing numbers so each row still has the same sum?
