In the game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players create their own island community full of cute animal neighbors and colorful decorations. Now, you can add world-class art to your island! Museums around the world created digital versions of their artworks for the game. The Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met) in New York City made more than 406,000!

To turn a real-world piece of art into an in-game decoration, the artwork is simplified into a grid of colored pixels. This grid is then turned into a QR code that you can scan with a Nintendo Switch.

“We believe everyone can find a favorite artwork in the Met’s collection that they would absolutely love to be able to experience every day,” says Sofie Andersen, the interim head of digital at the Met.
