Mouse Masterpieces
It’s impossible to get a reservation at this sidewalk café—because it’s made for mice! Noix de Vie is one of several tiny, detailed storefronts built into basement windows along a sidewalk in Malmö, Sweden. The cafe’s tiny furniture is made from discarded materials like matches, buttons, and stamps. The mini constructions are part of a street art project by a group of artists called AnonyMouse MMX. The group also made an “amousement” park, which opened earlier this year. The park features a tiny Ferris wheel, a house of horrors shaped like a cat with its mouth open, and a teacup ride made from real teacups!
At 12 inches tall by 25 inches wide, Noix de Vie’s storefront is 1/8 human size. What would the dimensions of a human-sized storefront be? Record your work and answer on our Numbers in the News answer sheet.
