2026 EYEWITNESS TO HISTORY CONTEST

DEADLINE: December 29, 2025

We read about history all the time. But chances are, someone you know has experienced it. Maybe they have lived through a historic moment, had their lives touched by war, or marched for their rights. Whatever it is, we want you to help tell that story!

Prizes
We will award the winning interview $250 and print it in Junior Scholastic. That student’s teacher will also get $250. Two runner-up entries will each get $50.

2026 Eyewitness to History Contest

DIRECTIONS: To enter, interview someone who experienced a historic event in person. Then have your teacher, parent, or legal guardian send us your interview in Q&A form. It can be written (700 to 900 words) or an audio recording (5 to 7 minutes). Entries must be submitted by an adult. Students can’t enter directly.

We will award the winning interview $250 and print it in Junior Scholastic. That student’s teacher will also get $250. Two runner-up entries will each get $50. Good luck!
